Peppers Spicers Peak Lodge is part of the Gainsdale group currently operating three award winning resorts, two under the Peppers banner located in South East Qld and one in the Hunter Valley Region, with more under development & a vision to expand globally. Renowned for its world class dining and recently named in The Good Food Guide’s top 10 Queensland restaurants, Peppers Spicers Peak Lodge is famous for its seven course degustation meals and gourmet dining experiences. Peppers Spicers Peak Lodge is officially the height of Queensland luxury after winning the Best Luxury Accommodation title at the 2006 and 2007 Queensland Tourism Awards.
Jude & Graham (Skroo) Turner opened Peppers Spicers Peak Lodge in April 2004 with a vision to introduce a property where people could "retreat" and "unwind" away from the busy pressures of modern life. Their vision was to create an idyllic retreat where guests feel completely at ease, as if in the environment of their own home but with added benefits of fine dining and pampering. Built in the style of a mountain lodge with high ceilings, fireplaces, rich timber fittings and stylish decor, the lodge offers a secluded retreat to escape the pressures of modern life. A stay at the lodge offers an intimate and relaxing experience in one of South East Queensland's most beautiful wilderness areas.
The Lodge sits atop a 9000 acre private cattle property and at 1100m, is the highest retreat in Queensland and the highest non-alpine retreat in Australia. The pristine surroundings, combined with only 10 luxurious suites, ensures an intmate and relaxing experience for our guests.
When designing the mountain lodge influences from the finest mountain lodges in New Zealand, Europe and Africa have been incorporated. The contemporary and classic design places strong emphasis on natural materials such as stone, timber, tin and glass to bring the outdoors inside. Feature materials used in the construction include re-milled Blackbutt and Oregon timber and some of the oldest Scottish bluestone in Australia.
